<reviewbody>In case you didn't see it below, the third disc (WRS Prelude through JB Goode) are from the soundboard and don't suffer from some of the quality issues of the audience recordings. This show is nice and tight, though the recording quality (of the audience section) has it's problems. The other seed is apparently an upgrade in the audience sections, but doesn't have the soundboard section. So some selective downloading is advised, in my opinion.</reviewbody>
<reviewtitle>get the soundboard section (disc 3)!!!</reviewtitle>

<reviewbody>Yes folks.....another gem slips by the wayside because of the "AUD" moniker. However WRS Prelude>Dark Star>Eyes>Playin>JBG is of SDBD quality and is the SHIT! The jazzy feel of this Dark Star is so real. They explore at least 5 or 6 completely different themes and when they finally finish 30minutes has passed. Dark Star morphs into Eyes and then comes mind-bender #2.......PLAYIN! Can someone explain how Jerry could have so much musical inspiration in a 1 hour peiod?! Beutiful notes are spewing out of his guitar in exponential fashion.

GET THE SDBD PORTION!!</reviewbody>

<reviewbody>OK, why am I bothering to post when all I'm going to say is "I absolutely agree with what everyone else says"? I confess, I just like to see my name under a show like this one. WRS->Playin' is as beautiful and masterful as it gets. Listen to it a hundred times and you'll hear something different every time. A very special show!</reviewbody>

<reviewbody>Every Deadhead has a first time but, this was mine! Not Too shabby! I've been putting off listening because I feared being disappointed at my fauly memory or something. Not to worry, apparently. This night was truly memorable. I was 15 and familiar w/ Workingman's, American Beauty, Europe 72, and snippets from Live Dead. The music they played opened up new synaptic pathways in my brain.Thereafter whenever I was bored with stuff going on in school or whatever I would literally 'tune out' and start to hear random improvised music in my head. I could turn it on any time. I credit the Dead with so empowering me. Later I started to play actual music w/ friends and used the Dead as inspiration for much jamming. Saw many shows after that but this one stands as the one to which I compared the others. Never really surpassed I must say. I loved the way they used to get so weird using only rudimentary effect pedals. Jerry used a Crybaby Wah-Wad and Keith had a volume pedal for his piano. Even when they got all that MIDI stuff I don't think they were able to get any further out there than they did in those days. Kinda like the Apollo Space Program , ya know? I mean they throw all that money at NASA and we still ain't been back to the moon.</reviewbody>

<reviewbody>I'm so happy to have found this concert! I had a vinyl bootleg back in the day, white cover with (I think) an amateur version of Mr. Natural on it, and "They Love Each Other" from this show. I've always loved this up tempo version and was disappointed when they switched to the slower and more draggy version, which was the way I heard them do it when first saw shows in '76. No idea when or why they started doing it slower but I intend to find out! Now to listen to the rest of the show, which if as good as this number I'm sure deserves the full 5 stars.</reviewbody>
